Today's alarming trend to more and more women needing help conceiving a child spells good news for women who are searching for help getting pregnant. After reading through all of the available info from professional sources there are several methods and guidance tips that have rung true from other women as well as my personal experience.
To start with, make sure your diet is healthy. Make sure your diet lacks junk food and saturated fats. Make sure to consume three meals a day with small snacks in between so that you never go hungry but are also never full (don't overeat). Your diet must contain lots of green leafy vegetables and folic acid, which is important to avoid various birth defects such as spina bifida. Folic acid is more readily found in green leafy vegetables, as mentioned above, and fruit, dried beans, and peas. Another addition that many women make to their diets is prenatal vitamins as they contain many of the nutrients necessary for an easy conception and through pregnancy to help deliver a healthy baby.
Once your diet is in check there are a few of other things that you can do to help in getting pregnant. One of the most important things that you can do to speed along your pregnancy is to know when you're most fertile and that means knowing when you're ovulating. Your cervical mucus can tell you when your chances to conceive a child are at their highest. When your cervical mucus is just getting thick and "stretchy" your body is telling you that you are a fertile baby-making machine. Once your cervical mucus begins thinning out, your fertility begins declining every passing day. Since sperm can live up to 7 days inside a woman's body, it is helpful to know your ovulation cycle and have sex about 3 days before your are scheduled to ovulate. This extra time will allow the sperm to have longer to swim up into your cervix and rest there waiting for your egg to appear upon ovulation. Keep in mind that your ovulation cycle, like your body, is very sensitive to outside influences like stress and other stimuli so calculating your next ovulation works well only when outside influences are relatively the same day to day and month to month.
Another commonly missed fact that most women are either unaware of or choose to ignore for peace of mind is the importance of the female orgasm in conceiving. When a woman experiences an orgasm, her vaginal muscles contract and help bring the sperm closer to her cervix. Of course, a female orgasm only provides help in getting pregnant if it occurs after the male orgasm has taken place, or if there are sperm left over from intercourse a few days ago. If you have problems experiencing an orgasm naturally, the use of sexual toys can also be considered. Make sure your selection focuses on exciting your clitoris and is for external use only so as to not upset the sperm.
